Quit Smoking With Lasers?

Quit smoking with lasers? After trying prescriptions, cold turkey, hypnosis, acupuncture, and several other remedies, all with limited or no success, and none with lasting success, I doubted my ability to quit. It would have been hard to believe that a simple, painless procedure could eliminate the desire to smoke. One day in a convenience store I was buying a pack of smokes and said to the cashier that I would like to quit. She became extremely excited and told me about her experience with lasers. She said the day she had her first treatment she went to work in a smoky bar and had no desire to smoke. It had been 18 months since she had the treatment, and she was now selling cigarettes to people all day long and still had no desire to go back. She was emphatic that she had quit smoking with lasers It sounded a little “out there” to me, but I decided to look into it. 

Researching the stop smoking laser treatment, only two types of websites seemed to be online, those promoting quit smoking laser treatment because they were selling the procedure, and those who derided laser therapy as a scam. Both types inspire a certain skepticism, especially when a site claiming cigarette laser therapy is a scam is in fact trying to sell little known homeopathic cure-alls. Sites of that type have a financial incentive to claim the quit smoking lasers are a sham; they want people to buy their herbal miracle juice. There didn't seem to be a site that offered information on stop smoking laser treatments without appearing to be an interested party in some way.

Over the previous few years I was no stranger to different ways to quit smoking. I tried Chantix four times; each time I did stop smoking after anywhere from four to ten weeks. But I always started smoking again, which isn't the fault of the prescrition, but Chantix is not cheap, and it had adverse effects on my mood, to put it charitably. After my fourth prescription, my friends and family said they liked me better as a smoker, and actually started finding (making up) positive aspects to smoking. Still the determination to be a non-smoker remained.

Cold Turkey was out of the question. Several attempts had been made, and each went down the same way.  The first few days I’d wake up angry with the entire world over a bunch of stuff that never actually happened. After three to five days, that dementia was replaced by a low grade emotional/psychological tension that was with me constantly. At any time a slight breeze could leave me angry or depressed. Although searching for another method, I was not yet ready to try to quit smoking with lasers.

Hypnosis was very relaxing and did weaken my desire for cigarettes, but whenever I had a craving and did not have an hour handy to lie down and listen to my custom hypnosis CD, I would up smoking. Sure it works great for some, but it was not the best of the methods to quit smoking cigarettes.
